Sumitomo Bakelite Europe (Ghent) NV is a market leader in the sector of thermoset molding compounds & composites for the mobility sector.

🏭 Active within two business units of the Group of Sumitomo Bakelite Co., Ltd.; the Ghent factory produces thermoset molding compounds based on phenolic (SBHPP High Performance Materials dept., Vyncolit® brand name) and epoxy (Information & Technology Materials dept., Sumikon® brand name).

🧪 The Automotive Solutions Center, established at the same site as the Ghent factory, provides customers with application development & prototyping support.

Sumitomo Bakelite Europe (Ghent) NV, located in Ghent, Belgium, is a subsidiary of Sumitomo Bakelite Co., Ltd. (HQ in Tokyo, Japan) and sister company of two further European production sites within the High Performance Materials dept.: Sumitomo Bakelite Europe NV (located in Genk, Belgium) & Sumitomo Bakelite Europe (Barcelona), S.L.U. (located in Barcelona, Spain).

As a Quality Manager HPP, you are responsible for quality assurance, quality projects within our HPP division, as well as our company quality management system & audits processes. You develop methods and instruments that increase quality and ensure that everything meets the strictest standards. You are a result-oriented professional who works carefully, takes initiative and gives direction to improvement projects. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you are the beating heart of our quality management. You:

• Ensures that the quality management system complies with IATF 16949 and customer requirements, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
• Leads internal and external audits and ensures clear and timely communication of the results.
• Manages complaints about the quality of our suppliers and customers.
• Ensures that the integrity of the quality management system is maintained when changes to the quality management system are planned and implemented.
• Follows up on action plans, analyzes Top Pareto & SPC defects.
• Monitors the implementation of PPAP requirements.
• Reports on performance and improvement opportunities, while ensuring the integrity of the QMS. KPI-management.

In short: you are the driving force behind our quality strategy and ensure that we not only meet standards, but exceed them.

• A degree in industrial or chemical engineering.
• Experience in automotive quality systems and in-depth knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA6.3 and 5 Core Tools.
• Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
