Sumitomo Bakelite Europe (Ghent) NV is a market leader in the sector of thermoset molding compounds & composites for the mobility sector.

🏭 Active within two business units of the Group of Sumitomo Bakelite Co., Ltd.; the Ghent factory produces thermoset molding compounds based on phenolic (SBHPP High Performance Materials dept., Vyncolit® brand name) and epoxy (Information & Technology Materials dept., Sumikon® brand name).

🧪 The Automotive Solutions Center, established at the same site as the Ghent factory, provides customers with application development & prototyping support.

Sumitomo Bakelite Europe (Ghent) NV, located in Ghent, Belgium, is a subsidiary of Sumitomo Bakelite Co., Ltd. (HQ in Tokyo, Japan) and sister company of two further European production sites within the High Performance Materials dept.: Sumitomo Bakelite Europe NV (located in Genk, Belgium) & Sumitomo Bakelite Europe (Barcelona), S.L.U. (located in Barcelona, Spain).

At Sumitomo Bakelite Europe (Ghent) NV, we are looking for a versatile professional for our ICT department who will future proof our systems and be responsible for the operational management of our infrastructure.

Functionally, you report to the European ICT Coordinator, hierarchically to the CFO of SBEG.

Your challenge

• Strategic: You help determine the ICT strategy, manage the budget and translate business needs into technological solutions (Enterprise Architecture - Digital Transformation Roadmap).
• Operational: You install, configure and maintain systems, networks and applications within an Operations Technology environment (PLCs – AD Microsoft for Windows – Microsoft 365 – DNS – DHCP - …).
• Optimization: You implement updates, upgrades and patches and ensure maximum performance and security (NAC by Aruba ClearPass – firewalling by Paloalto – NIS2 – Cybersecurity Frameworks - …).
• Automation: You develop scripts and processes to increase efficiency (Process Mining).
• Innovation: You follow trends and translate them into practical improvements in our production environment.
• Prioritization / needs analysis (Requirements Engineering en ICT Demand Management).

• Bachelor/Master in Computer Science or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum of 5 year experience with system administration, networks, security and ICT management. Preferably with the partners mentioned above.
• Proven track record and knowledge of Operations Technology environment.
• Analytical, communicative and result oriented.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
